Cookies

Nothing non-essential is stored until you say so. Here's exactly what that means, and how to change your mind.

Your current choice

You haven't made a choice yet, so analytics are switched off.

Analytics — only if you agree

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are useful and where people give up, so we can fix the parts that don't work. It writes two cookies, _ga and _ga_<id>, which hold a random number that distinguishes one browser from another. They last up to two years.

They are not set until you press Accept. The tag loads on every page, but it starts in a denied state (Google's Consent Mode), which means it measures nothing and stores nothing on your device until consent is given. If you accept and later change your mind, we delete the existing cookies rather than only stopping the next one.

We don't run ads on this site and we don't share this data with advertisers.

What's stored either way

Your basket

When you add something to your basket it's saved in your browser's local storage, under sas-basket. It holds what you chose — size, material, quantity — and a reference to the artwork you uploaded, so the basket survives you closing the tab.

It never leaves your browser until you check out, and it isn't a cookie: it's not sent to our server with every request the way a cookie would be. Clearing your browser data removes it, and so does emptying your basket.

Your cookie choice

The answer you give the banner is remembered in local storage, under sas-cookie-consent, so we don't ask again on every page. It's deliberately not a cookie — asking the question shouldn't itself require the consent it's asking for.

Payment

Paying takes you to Stripe, who process the card. Stripe sets its own cookies to run the checkout and to spot fraud. We never see your card details — they don't touch our servers at any point. Stripe's privacy policy covers what they store.

What we don't do

  • No advertising cookies. We don't run ads here and we don't let anyone else track you across the web from this site.
  • No session recording. Nobody is watching a replay of your mouse.
  • No pre-ticked boxes. Reject is the same size and the same weight as Accept, and closing the banner without choosing isn't taken as a yes.

Your order details

Separately from your browser, we hold what you'd expect once you've bought something: your email, delivery address, what you ordered, and your artwork. We need those to make and post your stickers, and to keep the accounts straight. We don't sell them.

Asking us about your data

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email hello@shapeandstick.co.uk. Some records we're obliged to keep for accounting reasons even after a deletion request; we'll tell you if that applies rather than quietly ignoring you.
